Absorbent blotting media is used in conjunction with printed cobalt dichloride free chemistries, which change color from blue to pink when exposed to different relative humidity environments or conditions. The combination of absorbent blotting media and printed cobalt dichloride free chemistries are generally known in the marketplace as Humidity Indicator Cards (HIC). Humidity Indicator Cards along with desiccant packages inside dry packed barrier bags used for sensitive electronic parts or medical products both monitor and confirm the humidity history inside each package during storage and transit of each part or end product. When barrier bags are opened, the card can be examined to evaluate if dryness levels were maintained. As a result, the cards ensure both the barrier bag and desiccant functioned as intended.
